Really good Hainan Chicken! Great balance between the chicken, the rice, ginger scallion sauce, sweet soy sauce, and the soup! Very well-rounded! Also very nice staff! Will definitely come back!

The place is fairly busy but weβre greeted the second we walk in! Service is great, everyone is very sweet and fast with assistance. The food tastes amazing. I prefer the hainan chicken rice because itβs boneless and packed with flavor. I focus on the rice with hainan chicken plates and this place does AMAZING with their rice. Delicious and overall a hidden gem in Monterey Park.

Checked out the newly opened Nandao Rice and Noodle at the corner of Garvey and Garfield in Monterey Park! The space inside is super clean and modern, and the menu keeps it simple, focusing mostly on rice and noodle dishes. Service was also really efficient and friendly, which is always a plus. Here is the rundown on the food: Pickled Cucumber Appetizer: Very good! A great, refreshing way to start the meal. Hainan Chicken: They are famous for this, and it is definitely the reason to come. However, the accompanying Hainan chicken rice was a bit on the dry side and lacked that rich, flavorful chicken fat taste you usually expect. Curry Chicken: The flavor of the curry itself was excellent, but we barely found any chicken in the dish. It was mostly potato and tofu. It is a solid new spot with a few opening week kinks to iron out. I still recommend dropping by for the Hainan chicken, and I will definitely be back to try their soy sauce chicken rice next time!

π₯’ Nandao: A Taste of Fuzhou in LA Nandao (meaning Southern Grains) is a charming, family-owned Fuzhounese gem born out of the ownerβs passion for Hainan chicken and authentic bing fan. While popular in Brooklyn, NY, Nandao proudly stands as the only place in Los Angeles where you can experience authentic bing fan. π Essential Info π Parking: Free dedicated lot located behind the restaurant, right next to the bank. π Reservations: Currently walk-in only. For larger groups, it's highly recommended to call ahead. π Patio: Spacious, pet-friendly outdoor seating that is also perfect for hosting events. β€οΈ Service: Warm, welcoming, and attentive. The owner genuinely cares about guest feedback and strives to provide an excellent experience. π The Food Blueprint Main Dishes Hainan Chicken Rice: Incredibly moist chicken served with fragrant rice, a side of soup, and a trio of delicious sauces (the ginger scallion is a standout). The real surprise is the soupβstewed for hours with natural vegetables, chicken bones, and a splash of coconut water for a uniquely refreshing, sweet finish. Scallion Oil Noodle (Must-Try!): Don't let its simple appearance fool you. This dish boasts deep layer

I'm so glad this new restaurant opened up in the center of Monterey Park! It's right on the corner of Garvey and Garfield, a block from my office, so super easy for me to walk to for lunch regularly. I just had lunch there today and had their hainan chicken, which is better than other local hainan chicken places in neighboring cities. We also tried their beef noodle soup, their chicken, wings, lettuce, hearts, and charcoal tofu. Everything was made well and delicious! Oh, and their drinks are great too! Both their lemon iced tea and their sparkling lime drink. They remodeled the whole restaurant so it's brand new, clean, and spacious. Highly recommended!
